CLASS:y’s Visual Director And Popular Influencer Lee Hee Chul Tragically Passes Away
Lee Hee Chul, a well-known broadcaster and a powerhouse influencer, has tragically passed away.
According to reports on January 8, KST, the 40-year-old artist suddenly passed away on January 7. He had been hospitalized a week earlier to treat a chronic illness but suddenly succumbed to a heart attack, leaving his close friends and family in utter shock.
Apart from being a broadcaster and an influencer, Lee was also a former photographer, the visual director of the girl group CLASS:y, and a successful restauranteur. He also gained mainstream popularity by appearing on shows like KBS2’s Mr. Househusband Season 2.

Amid the shock of his unexpected demise, Lee’s last Instagram post has garnered significant attention, where he described 2024 as an “incredibly difficult year” for him both physically and mentally. However, he concluded the post on a hopeful note, showing extraordinary resilience.

The post, which was made just a week ago, has now been flooded with condolence messages from his friends and fans.
Popular broadcasters Poongja and Hwangbo, 2NE1 member Sandara Park, and comedian Jinju are among Lee’s close celebrity friends who mourned his demise on social media. In fact, Poongja, who was known to be one of his closest friends, was the first to announce the tragic news of his passing through an Instagram post.
Lee’s funeral is set to take place at the Soonchunhyang Seoul Hospital funeral hall on January 10, 5 AM KST.
