On December 30, at around 10:30 AM, Tokyo Metropolitan Police responded to a call from a building resident who claimed a neighbor had broken into their apartment without permission. This neighbor, Ryo Yoshizawa, was brought in for questioning, and he gave the reason for the “break-in” as being drunk.

I was drunk and my memory is unclear. […]I just went in because I wanted to go to the bathroom.

His agency, Amuse Inc., released a statement on the situation, revealing that the neighbor had already received apologies, and extended more for the “inconvenience and trouble.”

We have already apologized to the neighbor for the inconvenience and trouble we caused. We would like to sincerely apologize to [Yoshizawa’s] fans and related parties for the concern and inconvenience we have caused.

— Amuse

This was initially reported on January 6. The following day, it was reported that Ryo Yoshizawa had been fired from being the face of Asahi Breweries‘ low-alcohol-content beer, with the company calling his actions “unacceptable.
