Woman Ends Up With Animal DNA After Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong
A woman in China is suffering undesirable and unexpected consequences after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a breast augmentation procedure.
It all started back in 2017, when Lingling decided to look into a breast augmentation technique promoted by a local beauty salon in Beijing. The technique? Extracting and reinjecting a patient’s collagen into their breasts. When Lingling visited the Beijing Creating Medical Cosmetic Clinic, head surgeon Bai Jin assured her that the simple and safe procedure would result in her body fully accepting the implants.
Instead, Lingling felt pain after her procedure, then underwent nine surgeries over the next six years to try to fix the problem, racking up a bill of 2.39 million yuan (approximately $318,182 USD). Finally, in October 2024, she went to a Shanghai hospital to identify the root problem and have the implants removed.
The doctors there discovered that the Beijing clinic’s injections hadn’t contained 100% human collagen from Lingling. The material, which had caused Lingling severe bodily harm and mental distress, contained the DNA of cattle and moose.
Unfortunately, Lingling isn’t the only patient who has gotten more than they bargained for with these “self-derived” injections. A beauty insider revealed that other patients had discovered DNA from gorillas, bats, and camels in their implants!
The Beijing Creating Medical Cosmetic Clinic was involved in 398 medical malpractice disputes and has had its business license revoked. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the head surgeon who assured Lingling that the procedure was perfectly safe, was unregistered.
