GOLD MEDALIST’s Statement About Sulli For Her Role In “Real” Sparks Fierce Backlash
On April 2, 2025, GOLD MEDALIST released an official statement to address the concerns brought up by the late Sulli‘s brother about her role in the movie Real. Real was produced by Lee Ro Be, GOLD MEDALIST‘s co-founder and Kim Soo Hyun‘s cousin. Kim Soo Hyun himself was an investor and actor in the movie.
GOLD MEDALIST denied that they had sprung the nude scenes on Sulli. They claimed that she had known of it before-hand, and was well-aware of the level of nudity that the role required. They also denied that there was any body double on the set. The company also denied Kim Soo Hyun had any involvement with the production or storyline of the movie.
Regarding their statement, netizens regarded it as unfair that they were speaking for Sulli, especially as she cannot step up to verify their claims at this point. Coming a whole 6 years too late, the company was also criticized for only making a statement now.
