“Real” Actor Jo Woo Jin’s “Scary” Interview Comment About Co-Star Kim Soo Hyun Resurfaces
A YouTube Shorts video has gone viral with over 8.9M views for capturing a press interview of the cast of Real, actor Kim Soo Hyun‘s 2017 K-Movie now under fire as the late idol-actress Sulli‘s older brother continues to question it.
The video is actually a segment from a 2017 episode of SBS‘s Entertainment Night. On June 27, the TV program aired an interview with Kim Soo Hyun, Sulli, and actor Jo Woo Jin, who were featured in Real.
When the Entertainment Night reporter asked Kim Soo Hyun to introduce the movie, he replied, “It’s like a gift set.” Jo Woo Jin’s response, however, has garnered renewed attention—given the recent allegations against the movie, Kim Soo Hyun, and GOLD MEDALIST‘s Lee Ro Be (also known as Lee Sa Rang).
Jo Woo Jin remarked, “I could tell that Kim Soo Hyun was fully immersed in this movie.” He then commented the movie was “of the Kim Soo Hyun, by the Kim Soo Hyun, for the Kim Soo Hyun.”
Kim Soo Hyun responded, “Sunbae-nim, if you say that in such monotone, it’s scary,” appearing flustered. At the time, the interaction didn’t raise flags—but it has since resurfaced with netizens wondering if Jo Woo Jin was making some sort of a statement.

In this interview, Jo Woo Jin also praised Sulli’s acting, saying, “The most memorable character from ‘Real’ for me is Choi Jin Ri for the role of Song Yoo Hwa,” despite her relatively smaller role compared to the lead, Kim Soo Hyun.
