“Goblin” is now officially more popular than “Descendants of the Sun”
tvN drama “Goblin” broke TV rating records and left dramas like KBS‘ “Descendants of the Sun” and SBS’ “The Legend of the Blue Sea” in the dust.
“Goblin” stars Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun and follows the story of an immortal goblin in search of his goblin bride to break his curse.
With just it’s debut week on December 2 it scored around 12,500 points on a TV drama chart. That same number took “Descendants of the Sun” five weeks to reach. In its second week, the drama had even higher ratings and twice the amount of “Descendants of the Sun”.
Additionally, according to CJ E&M and Nielsen Korea, “Goblin” ranked first in the top 50 ranking on its second week with a CPI index of 302.8. This is astounding as it beat the previous top spot of “The Legend of the Blue Sea”, which stars Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun, by 46.8 points.
It also managed to already surpass “Reply 1988” as tvN’s number 1 drama. “Goblin” airs every Friday and Saturday on tvN.
