Minzy uploads Happy Lunar New Year video with surprise information about her debut
In a recent Lunar New Year message, former 2NE1 member Minzy confirms she will be coming out with her solo album debut this year.
The post was uploaded on V Live on January 27 where the artist says:
“In the first half of 2017, I will be meeting everyone with my album. Everyone please show lots of interest and support. Happy New Year!” –Minzy
There were already speculations late last year of Minzy working on a solo album when she posted pictures of her and award-winning producer and composer Steve Barakatt. He has worked with several K-pop artists in recent years, including EXO’s Chen, Girls’ Generation’s Sunny, and Super Junior’s Yesung.
Minzy joined her label, The Music Works, in May of last year but has been busy mentoring rookie group MYTEEN. This year, on top of releasing her album, Minzy will also be making her return to variety shows by being a part of season 2 of “Unnie’s Slam Dunk”.
Her former group, 2NE1, recently released their final track titled “GOODBYE” which Minzy was not a part of. The singer, and former youngest member, posted about her disappointment of not being a part of the track on Instagram. Regardless she still thanked her fans for their love and asked them to support all the members in their future activities.
