Billionaire 27-year-old arrested after assaulting bartender
An heir to the South Korean multi-billion dollar conglomerate Hanhwa Group has been arrested for assaulting a bartender.
Kim Dong Seon, the son of Hanwha Group chairman and a Dartmouth College alumnus, was forced to resign from his post as the team leader at the Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corp after being charged with misconduct for a recent incident.
It has been reported that Dong Seon assaulted employees at a bar that he was visiting and subsequently damaged a police car as he was being transported after being arrested for the assault. At the time of the incident, Kim was under the influence of alcohol and it is reported that he also resisted arrest.
Kim has been sentenced to 8 months of incarceration and 80 hours of community service.
This is not the first time that Dong Seon has gotten into trouble, as he has been charged with violence, obstruction of business, and destroying public assets. He has also been accused of molesting an employee, assaulting security officers, and breaking windows at a hotel restaurant.
Kim has since apologized for his actions and vowed not to repeat them.
