Woman Who Brutally Sawed A Person In Half Became Thailand’s Sweetheart Overnight
Priyanuch Nonwangchai was convicted of murder in Thailand, but she’s gained attention in the country for the worst reason.
Initially, she and two accomplices were arrested for the death of bar worker Warisara Klinjui.
Eventually, two more women were found in connection with the grisly murder.
Horrified farmers found the body of the 22-year-old victim sawed in half and buried in a field.
Police suspect that Priyanuch Nonwangchai wanted revenge against Warissara Klinjui for causing her boyfriend’s arrest.
The victim was a known police drug informant.
The horrific murder received a lot of attention, but even more so after the public caught sight of the killer, Priyanuch Nonwangchai.
Men all around Thailand fell in love with her because of her beauty.
Some men even found her social media accounts where they could marvel over her good-looks.
In addition to selfies, they also discovered various glamour photos of the murder that proved her guilt.
The men were probably surprised to find the evidence!
Despite her crime, police officers were caught taking photos with her and treating her more like a celebrity rather than a criminal.
She and two of her fellow accomplices were even allowed to do their makeup in the police station instead of being locked up.
Eventually, photos of how the police station was treating the criminals were leaked and the officers involved were all disciplined.
Meanwhile, the suspects faced their own punishments.
While one accomplice was charged with receiving stolen goods, Priyanuch Nonwangchai and her other three accomplices were charged with premeditated murder, destroying and hiding a body, illegal detention, and carrying knives in a public place.
Priyanuch Nonwangchai later tried to admit to being the lone killer during the trial and attempted to plead to manslaughter.
Due to all the evidence that was given four of the girls were still facing the murder charges.
In March, Priyanuch Nonwangchai and two of the women also were held in contempt of court due to their use of social media while in court.
This meant the girls would face an additional six months and a fine of 500 baht for their indiscretion.
On May 10, 2018, all five women received their final judgments. Instead of facing life imprisonment or the death penalty, Priyanuch Nonwangchai and one of the accomplices were sentenced to 34 years and 6 months for providing useful information.
The woman who was charged with stolen goods was sentenced to 1 year in prison. A second accomplice was sentenced to 23 years, 4 months, and 22 days. The third accomplice was given 33 years and 9 months. The girls will also need to pay 1,070,00 baht at 7.5% interest to the victim’s family.
