2NE1 becomes the first K-Pop act to enter Billboard’s year-end world albums chart
Billboard praises 2NE1 for being the first Kpop artist to have made an entry in their year-end world albums chart!
On a recent article published by Billboard on December 23rd, they have put their focus on 2NE1 and their album Crush, after it ranked 11th on their year-end World Albums chart. It was further noted that it was the first time a Korean artist made an entry into their annual ranking which was first launched in 1995.
Since 2NE1’s Crush was released earlier this year, the album became the highest charting album under the K-Pop category, further earning the best first-week sales for its release. 2NE1 first made their entry on Billboard 200 ranking 61st for Crush.
Aside from their entry into the World Albums Chart, 2NE1 also ranked 7th under the World Albums Artist category alongside EXO and other international artists.
As their international following grows stronger through each release, 2NE1 is also preparing to debut their leader and rapper CL who will be making her debut in the United States this Spring.
