[★VIDEO] Park Ji Min reveals a large portion of her “K-Pop Star” winnings went to charity
SBS’s Healing Camp held a special episode on December 29th featuring many of the top contestants of past K-Pop Star seasons, including Park Ji Min.
As Season 1’s winner, Park Ji Min won 300 million won as a prize, as well as a contract with the agency of her choosing between JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and SM Entertainment.
When asked what she had done with her prize, Park Ji Min revealed, “For first place, I received 300 million won. I donated 200 million won and the rest was tax.”
Her answer surprised MC Lee Kyung Kyu, who said, “I wonder how you came about this idea. Did your parents allow you to do that?” to which she replied, “I live comfortably at home. My parents gave me permission. In the past, I’ve always wanted to help the needy in Africa from the bottom of my heart. So I donated my prize money.”
Other K-Pop Star contestants included Lee Hi, Baek A Yeon, Akdong Musician, Bernard Park, Sam Kim, and Kwon Jin Ah.
Park Ji Min joined JYP Entertainment and debuted as the talented duo 15&.
