BTS breaks #1 sales record previously held by TVXQ, They held that spot for 7 years
BTS’s new single album topped Japan’s main music chart on its first few days of release with record-breaking sales!
The single album, which included the Japanese version of their hit singles “DNA” and “Mic Drop”, sold 269,861 CDs on its first day, debuting at #1 on the Oricon Chart.

More impressively, the album held the top spot for the second consecutive day on December 06, adding up to a total 300,428 album sales in just two days!
The previous record for the most single album sales in one day was held by TVXQ!’s Break Out! back in 2010 with 255,917 units sold.
Along with the global hits “DNA” and “Mic Drop”, the seasonal holiday track “Crystal Snow” completed this holiday gift for Japanese ARMYs.
This is the fifth time that BTS has topped the daily singles chart since they achieved the feat with “Blood, Sweat & Tears”.
