Horrific Van Slaughter Incident In Canada Leaves At Least 3 Korean Citizens Wounded Or Dead
Two South Koreans were confirmed dead and one seriously injured in a horrific van slaughter incident in Toronto, Canada this week.
A van mounted a sidewalk crashing into a number of pedestrians in a busy city district, causing numerous deaths and injuries.
Alek Minassian, a 25-year-old from Ontario, Canada has been charged with ten counts of first-degree murder and thirteen counts of attempted murder.
A Korean news agency has also confirmed that three other Korean nationals have not been accounted for since the incident.

“At this time, our country’s victims include 2 dead, 1 seriously injured — a total of 3. We are in the midst of confirming any further victims from our country.” — Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The area itself is where a large Korean community is located.
The incident happened during lunch time, one of the reasons for the high casualty count.
The Korean government promised the victims’ families support.
“The foreign ministry has taken necessary steps, including contacting the families of the victims, and plans to provide relevant consular support in case the families want to visit there” — South Korean government official
