Notably, North Korean camera crews were swamped by other reporters!
After the attention of the North Korean camera crews, the following day had its own exciting moments. A private Chinese jet made a stop in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, before heading to Singapore. This led many to speculate that the craft was carrying North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un.
A few hours later, Kim Jong Un touched down in Singapore and was greeted by Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

Following his arrival, he met with Singapore’s Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong. The two held their own bilateral meeting during this time.
Kim reportedly praised the host country saying, “For this historical summit, Singapore has provided the necessary conditions for it to take place.“
The North Korean leader’s arrival and subsequent meeting weren’t the only events to take place. Five hours after the Kim Jong Un landed, U.S. President Donald Trump made his own arrival on the island country.
He was also greeted by Vivian Balakrishnan.
Previously President Trump had tweeted on his anticipation for the meeting.
I am on my way to Singapore where we have a chance to achieve a truly wonderful result for North Korea and the World. It will certainly be an exciting day and I know that Kim Jong-un will work very hard to do something that has rarely been done before…

…Create peace and great prosperity for his land. I look forward to meeting him and have a feeling that this one-time opportunity will not be wasted!

While it seems that the excitement for the day would have ended with the arrival of both leaders, it wasn’t going to be that way. Two reporters for KBS were expelled from Singapore after being accused of trespassing on a North Korean ambassadors residence.
Two others are currently being investigated.
With that, the excitement has ended for Sunday but President Trump will be having his own bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Lee on Monday.
Following his meeting, Trump and Kim Jong Un will be holding their meeting on Tuesday in the hopes of reaching a deal on dismantling North Korea’s nuclear weapons program in exchange for a security guarantee.
Now we just have to wait and see what will happen!
