YG Entertainment Responds To Happy Face’s Lawsuit About MIXNINE’s Failed Debut
Happy Face Entertainment sued YG Entertainment for failing to uphold their contractual agreement to debut the winning project group chosen through JTBC’s MIXNINE. Happy Face claimed 10 million won (~$9,000 USD) in damages and listed the issues regarding pay, expenses, and contractual agreement with YG Entertainment.
After learning about the lawsuit, YG Entertainment made an official announcement about their stance regarding the case. They first revealed that they were surprised by the lawsuit because they were under the impression that their final discussions regarding the winning team’s debut was closed amicably. They will be using their own legal team to cooperate with the continuation of the case, and hopes to resolve any misunderstandings that may have arisen throughout the MIXNINE discussions.
“We were under the impression that we amicably came to a conclusion regarding our discussions with 6 different agencies. However, one of the labels filed a lawsuit of 10 million won in damages. We did not expect this at all.
As the lawsuit has officially been filed, we will respond with our legal team to the fullest extent, and hope to resolve any misunderstanding through the final judgement.”
