Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany’s “Teach You” Was Inspired By Her Own Heartbreak
Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany has revealed that her second US single, “Teach You”, was inspired by her own ill-fated romance.
“Teach You’s” music video, which features Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon and Sooyoung, has already racked up more than 3 million views on YouTube since its September 27 release date.
Both the lyrics and video tell the story of a woman who takes sweet revenge on her cheating boyfriend after catching him in the act.

The retribution begins with femme fatale Tiffany going on shopping sprees with her ex’s credit cards, and it ends with him tied to a chair, about to be set on fire.
In an interview with NextShark News, Tiffany revealed that the lyrics for “Teach You” stem from her own personal experience.
“Sadly, yes. It’s about a relationship where I believed there was this instant connection and I was easily blinded by charm and sweet words just as any woman looking for love. All the hype just led to my broken heart.” — Tiffany
She explained that her bold actions in the music video reflect the powerful feelings she experiences after a breakup.
“In the end, this song shows that yes, I’m fragile, and yes, I’m sensitive and very emotional. I believe so strongly in love that when I’m heartbroken I have a bad reaction, and who knows what could happen?” — Tiffany
