FTISLAND’s Choi Jonghoon Was Caught Drunk Driving 3 Years Ago, Asked Police To Cover It Up
It has just been revealed through the police’s emergency press conference that FTISLAND‘s Choi Jonghoon, who was previously accused of being part of the chatroom with Seungri and Jung Joon Young, was caught drunk driving 3 years ago, but he asked police to cover it up.
According to the announcement from Min Gap Ryong, chief of the National Police Agency, 3 years ago, Choi Jonghoon was caught drunk driving. However, instead of facing punishment and backlash from the public, he was let off free, and not a single person heard anything about it. The reason was due to the request he sent to the police, someone that he knew from the chatroom.
“Don’t let the public or press know about this.”
— Choi Jonghoon
Min Gap Ryong continued saying how following the silencing of the press, Choi Jong Hoon told the chatroom that he seemed proud that the police were taking care of him. Shortly after this, other members of the chatroom began talking how they received favors from the police, but the term “police chief” was also mentioned. One member of the chatroom had said “Don’t worry about the police chief.”, implying nothing would happen to them.
Police are now launching an investigation on the potential collusion between members of the chatroom and someone in the police force.
“We will thoroughly investigate all of the police force, including those at the highest levels of power, for any doubts or suspicions of corruption”
— Min Gap Ryong
FNC Entertainment previously denied that Choi Jonghoon took part in any of these scandals, and that he was only asked to appear in front of police for questioning as a witness, not a suspect.
