Analyst predicts SM Entertainment will debut at least 2 groups this year
Kim Minjung, a KB Investment analyst, predicted that in SM Entertainment is likely to debut 2 new groups this year. This is a bold prediction that is likely to get fans very excited and riled up.
The analyst stated that,“SM Entertainment’s total sales and profit has gone up by 9.9% and 2.5 % respectively and the stocks are suffering from a loss of momentum at the moment since the second half of last year. Investors are also not feeling as confident due to the lack of success in their new artists in comparison to competing companies. The biggest issue in K-Pop right now is that there needs to be new boy groups to replace TVXQ, once popular veteran boy groups enlist in the army.”
SM Entertainment sure had a rough year in 2014 with Kris and Luhan from EXO ceasing their activities and the removal of Jessica from Girls’ Generation. Currently they are still embroiled in lawsuits with Kris and Luhan and have yet to reach an agreement in mediations.
Kim Minjung also said, although it’s impossible to predict how well these new groups will fare, it is inevitable that at least two new groups will be formed. Also, this will be the start of a line up of rookies that was severely lacking in SM Entertainment recently.
