Megan Lee to star in upcoming Nickelodeon K-pop inspired show, “Make It Pop”
American television cable channel Nickelodeon has picked up three new shows for the 2015-2016 season, including K-pop inspired show Make It Pop with Nick Cannon as its executive producer.
Co-created and leading as executive producers Nick Cannon and Thomas W. Lynch, Make It Pop occurs at a boarding school and follows randomly selected roommates who eventually bond over music. With the help of a fellow classmate, the trio become a K-pop inspired band, gaining recognition school-wide as they prepare to compete for a place in an upcoming musical.
The upcoming comedic-music series, which is signed for 20 episodes, will feature an all-new and original songs and performances with every episodes.
Megan Lee will star as Sun Hi, a student who is an expert at using social media, Louriza Tronco will play Jodi, Sun Hi’s fashionable roommate, and Erika Tham as the bookish classmate.
Russel Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President, Content Development and Productions, said, “Between the enormous amount of shows we have in production, and the strong foundation of our recent launches, we are giving our audience some of the most fresh and innovative content we’ve ever produced. The new daily scripted shows we’ve picked up are right in line with kids’ demand for more content, in different formats, and we can’t wait for kids to see and love them.”
Currently, Megan lee is involved in a contract dispute with her Korean agency Soulshop Entertainment which has yet to be resolved.
