How To Spend Your Vacation Just Like BTS’s Jimin
With winter break just around the corner, many students are gearing up for their vacation and my families are looking for warmer places to spend their holidays, with Hawai`i being a popular destination for tourists.
If you happen to be traveling to Hawai`i, in specific, the island of Maui, you can visit one of the special places from BTS Jimin‘s vacation vlog which he shared with ARMYs back in October.
Hi everyone, it’s Jimin. I’m vacationing in Hawaii with my friends.
— Jimin
Jimin was actually hanging out on the side of the road to Haleakalā! Haleakalā is a is a large shield volcano that makes up for than 75% of the island of Maui. It is a sacred place for Native Hawaiians, as in Hawaiian folklore the crater was the home of the demigod Māui’s grandmother. The mountain is home to endangered flora and fauna, some of which don’t exist anywhere else in the world.
While it’s entirely possible Jimin was just enjoying the sights and cool breeze, Haleakalā is known for its breathtaking sunrises (and sunsets), which makes sense when you consider its Hawaiian name translates to “House of the Sun” in English. Haleakalā is one of Hawaii’s National Parks, and there is an entrance fee to visit, in addition to reservations that must be made in advance for sunrise viewing. (Reservations can be made online through the National Park Service website.)
And, if you’re interested in picking up a hoodie just like Jimin’s, there are many shops which cater to tourists along Front Street in Lahaina, as well as big-box shops like Target, which is a short drive from the airport, that offer the same hoodie he was wearing available for purchase!
