“16th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival” to showcase exclusive screening of anticipated Korean film, “A Hard Day”
This year’s Newport Beach Film Festival will feature a special Korean spotlight, giving attendees an exclusive screening into the highly anticipated Korean film, A Hard Day.
A Hard Day is a dark comedy film that stars Lee Sun Kyun as a detective who is down on his luck and accidentally commits homicide on his way to his own mother’s funeral. This film will take viewers down a comedic ride with action and thriller elements, and will make you root for the man despite his obvious lack of ethics.
Other actors who are featured, include Jeong Man Sik, Jo Jin Woong, Shin Dong Mi, and Shin Jeong Geun.
The film was previously screened at the Festival de Cannes, where they were nominated in seven different categories by the Motion Pictures Association of Korea, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography.
CEO of the Newport Beach Film Festival Gregg Schwenk said, “The Festival continues a proud tradition of presenting the very best in Korean Cinema. ‘A Hard Day’ is a riveting and comedic thriller. Dynamic and suspenseful cinematography make this a must see for 2015.”

A Hard Day will make its screening on Monday, April 27th at 7:45PM PST at Edwards Big Newport (300 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach, CA 92660), and will be followed by post-screening celebration at 10PM PST at the Pacific Rim Gala held at Design Within Reach – SOCO Courtyard (3303 Hyland Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626).
