9 K-Pop Idols Who Almost Debuted In Different Groups
Many situations can occur for K-Pop trainees, where sometimes things may not go as planned. Here are 9 K-Pop idols who almost debuted in different groups.
1. Hyunseung (Former member of BEAST)
Hyunseung was originally a trainee at YG Entertainment, where he trained with the BIGBANG members. Hyunseung was even a part of the Big Bang Documentary, which was the pre-debut show that showed BIGBANG’s training days. Hyunseung got cut from the group in one of the final episodes. Hyunseung eventually went to Cube Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of BEAST.
2. Somi
Somi almost debuted as a member of ITZY, where some pre-debut profile pictures of the members were leaked. The pictures leaked showed Ryujin, Yeji, Chaeryeong, Somi, and Lia.
Somi ended up leaving JYP Entertainment before ITZY’s debut. She’s now a solo artist under The Black Label.
3. G-Dragon (BIGBANG)
G-Dragon was originally a trainee at SM Entertainment. He switched to YG Entertainment once he got more interested in rapping. He definitely wouldn’t have debuted in BIGBANG if he had stayed at SM Entertainment.
4. Soyou (Former member of Sistar)
Soyou was originally a trainee at Cube Entertainment, where she was training to debut with 4Minute. Soyou has admitted that she was lacking at the time, so she ended up not debuting in the group. She eventually made her way to Starship Entertainment, which is where she debuted as a member of Sistar.
5. Mino (WINNER)
Mino‘s relationship with the other Block B members is quite well known, where he’s known them from their underground rapping days. Mino was originally a part of Block B’s final lineup but didn’t debut due to contract issues. Mino then debuted in a group called BoM, but they disbanded after 2 years of promoting. Mino eventually found his way to YG Entertainment, which is where debuted as a member of WINNER.
6. Subin (VICTON)
Subin was originally a trainee at Cube Entertainment, where he was going to debut as a member of PENTAGON. Subin ended up leaving before the group’s debut. He eventually found his way to Play M Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of VICTON.
7. Miyeon [(G)I-DLE]
Miyeon was originally a trainee at YG Entertainment, where she trained with the BLACKPINK members. BLACKPINK was originally going to be a 9 member group, and one of the members was going to be Miyeon. Miyeon ended up leaving the company and became a trainee at Cube Entertainment. This is where she debuted as a member of (G)I-DLE.
8. Kim Samuel
Samuel was originally a trainee at Pledis Entertainment, where he trained with a lot of the SEVENTEEN members. He was originally supposed to debut with SEVENTEEN, but his mother thought he was too young to become an idol at the time. Samuel later participated in Produce 101 Season 2, and later debuted as a solo artist.
9. Park Jihoon
Jihoon was a trainee for multiple companies before Maroo Entertainment. One of these companies was Fantagio, where he could have possibly been a member of ASTRO. Jihoon was also once a trainee at SM Entertainment, so he could have possibly debuted in a group there as well.
