INFINITE’s Sungyeol to make drama comeback with “D-DAY”
INFINITE‘s Sungyeol is reported to be joining the casts for upcoming JTBC drama D-DAY.
Both broadcasting officials and Sungyeol’s label Woollim Entertainment have confirmed the idol’s appearance in the drama. An official from Woollim Entertainment stated, “Sungyeol is appearing in D-DAY. He will attempt for a new acting transformation through this project.”
It is not a big surprise that Sungyeol is joining the team as D-DAY is going to be produced by SM C&C, which merged with Woollim Entertainment in 2013. Additional news was also released on the same day that former KBS program director Lee Ye Ji signed a contract with SM C&C.
Sungyeol was the lead actor alongside Kim Sae Ron and fellow member Woohyun in KBS 2TV drama High School Love On last year. It is revealed that he will take on a new challenge in this upcoming drama with transformed acting skills.
D-DAY’s plot revolves around a disaster-stricken city of Seoul, highlighting courageous rescue workers, emergency personnel, and doctors. Model-turned-actor Kim Young Kwang is already confirmed for the drama while Jeon So Min, Ha Seok Jin, Lee Kyung Young, and more are still in discussions.
Broadcasting timeslot details for D-DAY will be finalized soon and is expected to air on Fridays and Saturdays in the second half of the year.
