“The World of the Married” Shim Eun Woo Has a History of Suffering Great Harm in Her Acting Roles
Shim Eun Woo is currently taking the world by storm with her role as Min Hyun Seo, who suffers abuse from her boyfriend and helps Ji Sun Woo with her affair and divorce struggles in the drama, The World of the Married.
But what many viewers didn’t know is the fact that Shim Eun Woo has a long history of playing roles that suffer great abuse.
Shim Eun Woo debuted as an actress 5 years ago, and her first project was the film, Two Sisters, in which she played a North Korean defector sister who suffered both physical and emotional difficulties.
And in a drama after that, Shim Eun Woo played a BJ in Wanted, who played a character with the decisive clue for finding an abducted child.
In her following roles, she played brighter characters in films and dramas such as Queen of Walking, The Rebel, and Suspicious Partner.
But in 2017, her roles of suffering returned through her runaway child character in the film, Outskirts, and she was even locked up in a rundown hospital in the film, The Closed Ward.
Although she played a cuter role in the 2018 drama, Radio Romance, the darker roles came back to show off Shim Eun Woo’s full acting potential.
In the drama, Less Than Evil, Shim Eun Woo played a character who was kidnapped and even witnessed a murder, and in Arthdal Chronicles, she played the role of a woman who had to overcome great obstacles while waiting for her husband to return.
And in her most recent drama, The World of the Married, Shim Eun Woo has been portraying the role of a woman suffering repeated abuse from her boyfriend and doing it flawlessly.
It’s clear that while she plays the roles of many unfortunate characters, her acting career in real life is flourishing.
