10 K-Pop Idols Who Were Once JYP Entertainment Trainees
K-Pop idols switching companies during their trainee days is nothing new, as some of them just aren’t a good fit with certain companies. However, one company that has had a lot of trainees switch out of their company is JYP Entertainment. Here’s a list of some current K-Pop idols who were once trainees at JYP Entertainment.
1. Daehwi & Woojin (AB6IX)
Daehwi and Woojin were both trainees at JYP Entertainment before they found their way to Brand New Music. This would explain why the two are extremely close with artists from JYP Entertainment, such as Stray Kids.
2. CL (Former member of 2NE1)
CL was originally a trainee at JYP Entertainment but switched to YG Entertainment due to being a fan of Teddy Park, who is one of the main producers at YG.
3. Chungha
Chungha got accepted into JYP Entertainment after getting third place in JYP Entertainment’s 2012 audition. However, Chungha ultimately left the company after her pre-debut group broke up.
4. Peniel (BTOB)
Peniel was originally a trainee at JYP Entertainment, and he had quite a unique audition. He eventually left the company and joined Cube Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of BTOB.
5. Shownu (MONSTA X)
Shownu was a trainee at JYP Entertainment and trained for many years alongside the members of GOT7. Shownu was later let go by the company but found his way to Starship Entertainment, which is where debuted as the leader of MONSTA X.
6. Doojoon & Gikwang (HIGHLIGHT)
Both Doojoon and Gikwang were trainees at JYP Entertainment before they moved to Cube Entertainment, which is where they debuted as members of BEAST.
7. Youngjae (Former member of B.A.P)
Youngjae was a trainee at JYP Entertainment but ultimately left the company due to personal reasons. He was later accepted by TS Entertainment, which is where he debuted as a member of B.A.P.
8. Hoya (Former member of INFINITE)
Before he got accepted into Woollim Entertainment, Hoya was a trainee at JYP Entertainment.
