After former AOA Mina’s exposure to Jimin’s alleged bullying and its effect on her mental health, FNC Entertainment ultimately confirmed the departure of Jimin from the group and the industry. Even with Jimin’s withdrawal from the group, many accounts of Jimin’s alleged bullying and stories from fans have started to resurface online. From allegedly bullying Choa to stealing Mina’s gift received from a fan, netizens are shedding light to this matter.
One online community post received much attention as a video about AOA’s way of choosing roommates for dorms resurfaced. This was from a 2017 clip from the JTBC show Please Take Care of My Refrigerator. Seolhyun revealed that the standard for choosing which members live in which dorms was based on those that liked their personal time and those that liked unity.
According to these conditions, members Choa, Chanmi, Seolhyun, and Yuna lived in one dorm because they liked their individual space while Jimin, Mina, and Hyejung lived together because they liked “unity.”
Netizens who came across this were shocked seeing that Mina had to endure living in the same dorm with Jimin. The fact that the standard for who lives in which dorm was based on who liked unity and who liked their “me” time was not cutting it for the fans. Some netizens felt that they might have purposefully chosen it like that and felt sorry for Mina.

On July 3, Mina first uploaded a series of posts, revealing an AOA member bullied her to the point of extreme thoughts. Jimin responded to such allegations, but then Mina continued to share posts detailing what happened to her. She even revealed how her agency at the time, FNC Entertainment, did not take any corrective action. Early on the morning of July 4, she posted her final update on the situation, revealing Jimin apologized to her.
