If Not For COVID-19, These Epic Concerts Would Have Pushed Through
The spread of COVID-19 across the world has forced K-Pop artists to postpone or cancel their concerts. Although disappointing, fans understood that it was for the best and hoped that they would one day see their favorite artists in a safe environment.
Read on to see 8 concert tours that would have pushed through if a pandemic never occurred!
1. (G)I-DLE – I-LAND: WHO AM I
(G)I-DLE‘s I-LAND: WHO AM I would have been their first world tour. It was unfortunately cancelled on June 5 due to COVID-19. Instead, it was replaced by an online concert that was held on July 5.
2. Red Velvet – La Rouge in Yokohama
Red Velvet‘s third solo concert, La Rouge, was scheduled to make a stop in Yokohama, Japan, on March 7 and 8. It was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
3. Taeyeon – The UNSEEN in Singapore
Taeyeon‘s The UNSEEN concert in Singapore was supposed to take place on February 1. It was cancelled on January 30, and Taeyeon personally apologized to her fans and asked them to stay safe.
4. NCT Dream – The Dream Show in Singapore
After Taeyeon announced the cancellation of her concert, NCT Dream followed suit. They cancelled The Dream Show in Singapore in order to “prioritize the safety of the artists, patrons, and staff”.
5. NCT 127 – Neo City: The Awards
NCT 127 was scheduled to hold their second North American tour Neo City: The Awards in June, but it was cancelled because of the current situation. Member Johnny apologized to fans and promised that their next tour will be magical.
6. SEVENTEEN – Ode To You
SEVENTEEN announced in April that they were cancelling their Ode To You concerts in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Madrid, Paris, London, and Madrid, as well as their sold-out Japanese dome tour. They expressed their sadness over not being able to meet their fans from all over the world, and they thanked all front line workers for their hard work during the pandemic.
7. TWICE – TWICELIGHTS in Seoul
TWICE‘s final concerts for their TWICELIGHTS world tour were scheduled to take place in Seoul on March 7 and 8. JYP Entertainment announced its cancellation in February, citing the rise in COVID-19 cases as the reason why.
8. BTS – MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR
BTS‘s MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR was scheduled to begin on April 11 in Seoul. After COVID-19 began spreading, Big Hit Entertainment ultimately decided to cancel the world tour. An online concert, Bang Bang Con, was held on June 14 for ARMYs across the globe.
