These Are The 10 Oldest Active K-Pop Boy Group Idols In The Industry
The oldest girl group members in K-Pop have already been discussed, so now it’s the boys’ turn! These talented men have been in the industry for a long time (most of them well over a decade), and they’re still going strong after all that time! This list only includes idols that are still in an active K-Pop group, and not solo artists or those that are solo after disbanding from a group. Here are the 10 oldest active male group idols!
10. Donghae (Super Junior): Born October 15, 1986 (33 years old)
Sweet Donghae is a lead vocalist, lead dancer, and rapper of Super Junior. He’s very close with fellow Super Junior member Eunhyuk, and they even have a quite successful sub-unit group called Super Junior D&E. His hobbies include dancing, exercising, watching movies, and singing, and he is able to play the guitar, piano, and keyboard. He wanted to become a soccer player when he was younger, but he also loved dancing, so becoming an idol worked out well for him!
9. Siwon (Super Junior): Born April 7, 1986 (34 years old)
Siwon has the position of vocalist, visual, and center of Super Junior. He was once scouted by a talent agent from Starlight Casting System to become an entertainer, and after training with them in singing, dancing, and acting for a few months, he auditioned for SM Entertainment. He’s starred in many different dramas, and is well-known for his acting career. His hobbies include singing, acting, dancing, and playing drums.
8. Eunhyuk (Super Junior): Born April 4, 1986 (34 years old)
Eunhyuk is a main rapper, vocalist, and main dancer in Super Junior, and has helped write lyrics for many of the group’s songs as well as created some of the choreographies. His hobbies include dancing, exercising, and listening to music, and he has also been a coach for the performance team on the competition show UNDER 19. When he was younger, he wanted to be both a soccer player and a singer, so at least one of them has come true!
7. Yunho (TXVQ): Born February 6, 1986 (34 years old)
Yunho is the oldest member of the now-duo TVXQ, and acts as the leader, main rapper, main dancer, vocalist, and center of the two. His hobbies include listening to music, reading, composing music, and playing sports. He was once targeted by an anti-fan and even had to be rushed to a hospital after drinking something that had been laced with super glue, but fortunately he was alright!
6. Jaejoong (JYJ): Born January 26, 1986 (34 years old)
Jaejoong is the oldest member of the now-duo JYJ, and acts as the main vocalist, lead dancer, visual, and face of the group. He was adopted when he was young, and has 8 older sisters in his adopted family! His hobbies include listening to music, playing computer games, cooking, composing, and playing the piano. He was declared the richest K-Pop idol in 2017, with a net worth of over $100 million USD!
5. Sungmin (Super Junior): Born January 1, 1986 (34 years old)
Sungmin is currently inactive in the industry, but is still, technically, an official member of Super Junior. His position is as a lead vocalist and lead dancer, and he can also play the guitar, bass, and piano. He married musical actress Kim Sa Eun back in December of 2014, which led to backlash from some fans and which is why he hasn’t been active with the group lately. His hobbies include practicing martial arts, acting, playing instruments, and watching movies.
4. Shindong (Super Junior): Born September 28, 1985 (34 years old)
Shindong is a lead rapper and lead dancer in Super Junior, and also serves as the group’s choreographer sometimes. His hobbies include making jokes and dancing, and he can also play the piano and guitar. He’s been known lately for his drastic weight loss, which he worked incredibly hard to achieve.
3. Yesung (Super Junior): Born August 24, 1984 (35 years old)
Beautiful-voiced Yesung is one of the main vocalists of Super Junior, and his stage name even roughly means “art-like voice”. He wants to start a business career after Super Junior disbands someday, and his hobbies include singing, listening to music, and exercising.
2. Heechul (Super Junior): Born July 10, 1983 (37 years old)
Sassy Heechul is the second-oldest boy group idol still active in K-Pop, though he hasn’t been able to actively promote recently with Super Junior due to health reasons (likely his old leg injury from a car crash). He’s a vocalist and rapper of the group. His hobbies include writing poems and fairy tales, and playing computer games. He is also, of course, known for currently dating TWICE‘s Momo!
1. Leeteuk (Super Junior): Born July 1, 1983 (37 years old)
Leeteuk is the current oldest K-Pop boy group idol in the industry! He’s the leader, vocalist, and rapper of Super Junior, and started being a trainee at 13 years old. He wants to be a producer after the group eventually disbands, though it’s unknown when that will happen. He has a dog named Shimkoong, and his hobbies include playing piano, composing, listening to music, and singing.
