Emma Stone reveals her hidden obsession with K-Pop and her favorite artist on “Conan”
You won’t believe what Emma Stone‘s hidden obsession is. That’s right, it’s her love for K-Pop. And she reveals all, including her favorite Korean artists, on the latest airing of Conan.
On the July 15th airing of TBS‘s Conan, actress Emma Stone made a guest appearance on the late night talk show and was asked by the show’s host Conan O’Brien, “What is your latest obsession?”
Emma Stone immediately answered, “K-Pop,” garnering some cheers from the audience which had quite an amount of K-pop fans, surprisingly (?).
She then explains K-Pop – for those who weren’t familiar with it – saying, “It’s a global phenomenon, so I’m sure everyone already knows it,” and continues saying, “It’s Korean pop music. It’s beyond excellent. It’s the best thing you’ve ever seen.”
Conan follows up, “‘It’s the best thing you’ve ever seen.’ What is it about it – is it the videos? Is it the music? Or is it the whole thing combined?”
The actress answers, “It’s kind of all of it. It’s like the combination – I don’t know what it is – it’s like – I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s all so addictive.”
When asked if she currently has a favorite, Emma Stone reveals it is 2NE1, describing she met the girl group during the premiere of Spiderman 2 in Seoul, gaining some loud cheers from K-pop fans in the audience, naming “I Am The Best” as her favorite track.
Andy Richter then comments that K-pop groups have an excessive number of members (“[..] has 15 members.”), sounding shocked when Emma Stone stated that 2NE1 only has four members. But she proves to know her K-pop well, naming Girls’ Generation as one group who has numerous members.
