BLACKPINK Dishes On Collaborating With Cardi B And Breaking Boundaries
BLACKPINK‘s long-awaited comeback is finally here!
On October 2, BLACKPINK dropped THE ALBUM, a brand new release featuring eight addictive songs. The tracklist includes “How You Like That”, “Lovesick Girls”, and “Bet You Wanna” (featuring Cardi B).
In an interview with Associated Press, BLACKPINK described how they reacted when they first heard Cardi B’s rap on “Bet You Wanna”. “We were screaming,” Rosé said. “We were literally screaming.”
This year, BLACKPINK collaborated with some of the biggest female singers in American music, Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez, but Jennie said, “This was the first time having a rapper feature for our song.”
The members couldn’t contain their excitement when they listened to Cardi B’s verse.
As soon as it came out we, like, told him to stop. Stop the song! Did we just hear that? It’s just mindblowing.

BLACKPINK also talked about working with Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy”, Selena Gomez on “Ice Cream”, and their relationship with the US music scene.
“We’re kind of far away from America, the States,” Jennie said. “like, the fact that they’re reaching out to us, and the fact that they’re featuring us, just that move itself kind of speaks…”
“That there are no boundaries,” Rosé interjected.
“Yeah, there are no boundaries,” Jennie continued. “and they’re willing to create something fun that we love to do. Yeah, so it’s a great feeling and we’re so lucky for it, to be able to make this happen.”
