BLACKPINK Make Girl Group History On UK Music Charts With “THE ALBUM”
BLACKPINK has already amassed an impressive number of records with their first full-length album THE ALBUM, but for these queens, there is always room for even more impressive feats!
From the moment THE ALBUM dropped, BLACKPINK has taken over music charts around the globe including music charts in the UK. And their recent performance on the charts there has even set a number of new records.
Taking over the UK Official Singles Chart with “Lovesick Girls”, “Bet You Wanna”, and “Ice Cream”, BLACKPINK became the only Korean female act in history to simultaneously have three songs on the chart.
In addition to the singles chart, BLACKPINK also made a huge splash on the UK Official Album Chart. Debuting at no. 2 on the chart, THE ALBUM became the highest-charting album by a female K-Pop act in the UK.
Furthermore, BLACKPINK joined Little Mix as the only girl group from the 2010s to enter the top 3 of the chart!
What’s more, BLACKPINK became the only female K-Pop act to have two albums top iTunes‘ UK Albums Chart with Kill This Love and THE ALBUM.
BLACKPINK’s list of records really does grow longer each and every day! Congratulations BLACKPINK!
