BLACKPINK Takes Over The Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart This Week
With the release of their latest hit, “Lovesick Girls”, BLACKPINK has been leaping to the top of many different music charts, both in Korea and internationally.
Billboard‘s Digital Song Sales chart is a weekly list that shows which international digital singles are making the highest sales as of that week in the U.S. K-Pop is often a large portion of the songs listed, thanks to the growing popularity of the music genre!
This week, BLACKPINK takes up not just the #1 placement on the chart with “Lovesick Girls”, but also #2 with “Pretty Savage” and #4 with “You Never Know”! It just goes to show how successful the group is internationally.
There are many other K-Pop songs charting this week too that have been on the list for a while! The next highest position taken by a K-Pop song is #8, which is where “Filter” by BTS is ranked this week. The song was actually at #1 last week, and this is now it’s 31st week ranking on this chart!
BTS also takes the #10 position with “My Time”, down from #9 last week and spending its 31st week on the chart as well. Jungkook’s solo “Euphoria” is also ranking, placed at #11 again this week with 35 total weeks on the chart.
BLACKPINK shows up again on the chart at #12, with “Kill This Love” now on its 71st week on the chart and rising from its #16 position last week.
Speaking of the power of girl groups, EVERGLOW‘s “LA DI DA” spends its third week on the chart at #14, down from #8 last week but still holding on pretty strongly.
BTS charts again at #15 on the list with “Mikrokosmos”, now on its 11th week on the chart after re-entering this week. BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” spends its 82nd week on the chart at #16, up from #21 last week!
Stray Kids ranks at #18 this week with their latest hit, “Back Door”. Now on its 4th week, it falls from its #10 place last week, but it debuted at #2, so this song has been really successful for this young group!
Once more, BTS ranks on the list at #19 and #21 with “Boy With Luv” and “Mic Drop” (ft. Desiigner), now at 64 weeks and 125 weeks charting respectively. In at #20 is virtual K-Pop group K/DA‘s “The Baddest”, now on its 6th week on the chart.
And finally, BTS takes up three more spots on the chart: #22 with “Black Swan” (on its 15th week), #24 with “ON” (on its 20th week), and #25 with “Home” (on its 6th week). In total, 17 of the 25 songs on the list this week are K-Pop!
