Netizens Grow More Suspicious Over Plagiarism Accusations After An Alleged Pinterest Account Of SM Entertainment’s Creative Director Is Revealed
SM Entertainment was previously under fire from netizens as claims of plagiarism over their new girl group, aespa, were rife on community sites. Recently, a netizen discovered the Pinterest account of one of the supposed creative directors at the company. Suspicions of plagiarism were fuelled due to the saved images under each artist tab.
Under what the account titles as “rookies”, various pop-art and graphic designs utilizing futuristic elements and a neon color scheme can be seen.
What angered netizens was that the design that was originally accused of being plagiarized from an independent artist, Bryan Huynh, was included in the mood board. Huynh himself had come out on his Instagram account to address the claims, although he did not target the group nor the company.
The font for their logo, although common, was also inspired by various chromatic art on Pinterest.

Netizens had also found out that SHINee Taemin‘s schedule poster for his solo promotions were heavily influenced by art found online.
The original poster design can be credited to Felix Buhler.
In recent news, rookie girl group from Highup Entertainment, STAYC also faced plagiarism allegations. While Highup Entertainment has addressed the issue and issued an apology, SM Entertainment has yet to speak up on the matter.
