BTS Scores 2 Major Awards At The 2020 AMAs After Giving Emotional Closing Performance
The 2020 American Music Awards has come and gone, and with it, BTS has major new accomplishments to be proud of.
On November 22, they had the honor of closing out the show with a 6-minute performance including “Dynamite” and their latest single, “Life Goes On”. They filmed their performance at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, due to the ongoing pandemic not allowing them to perform in person.

This was their first live performance of “Life Goes On”, and though Suga was noticeably absent from their press conference early last week, he was able to join the rest of the members on stage for this emotional show.
This year, BTS took home two awards, which is an amazing accomplishment for any artist, let alone a non-American act!
One of these was the award for Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock, which is an award they also took home last year at the AMAs as well.
The second award was for Favorite Social Artist, which they have now won three years in a row!

Since BTS wasn’t able to attend the awards ceremony in person, they shared their gratitude through a video message.

Jimin starts off the all-English message by saying, “Thank you ARMY and the AMAs for this great honor.” RM then goes on to say, “Wish Suga was here with us today to celebrate today, but alright,” and Jungkook chimes in with, “And we’re sorry we can’t be there in person to receive this award, but still glad that we could connect from Seoul.”
RM continues by saying, “We got this title last year too, so thank you for your continued support and love, especially in a year so full of uncertainties and doubts.” J-Hope also adds on to the message with, “In the middle of this, we want to remain as a group that brings comfort to the world through music,” and Jin agrees with, “That’s exactly what we wanted to do with our new album as well to tell ARMY that despite everything, our life goes on.”
V finishes off the message with the conclusion, “Thank you again for this precious award. Love you ARMY!”
