Suzy Reportedly In Talks To Play Lead Role In An Indian Movie Directed By Shankar
According to reports, K-Pop star and acclaimed actress Suzy is reportedly in talks to star in a new Indian movie.
Shankar Shanmugam, more commonly known as Shankar, is one of India’s most popular Tamil-language cinema producers. Recently, it was announced that Shankar will be directing a new political thriller movie starring 35-year-old Ram Charan, one of the highest-paid Telugu cinema actors.
Given the high profile of both Shankar and Charan, Indian media has been buzzing with talk about who will play the actor’s leading lady—and one unexpected name is making the rounds: Suzy.
According to reports, the Korean star may be in talks to play the lead female role in the unnamed political thriller. While rumors originally circulated that the movie will be pan-Indian, there’s now talk suggesting it could be pan-Asian, encompassing countries like South Korea too.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Suzy has been considered for a role in a Shankar movie. Back in 2019, it was also reported that filmmakers wanted Suzy to star in Indian 2, an upcoming sequel to the incredibly popular 1996 vigilante thriller Indian. While actress Kajal Aggarwal is set to play the lead role in Indian 2, Suzy was being considered for a smaller role in portions of the film set in Taiwan.
Neither Suzy’s agency Management Soop nor the movie’s production company Sri Venkateswara Creations has confirmed the rumors, but Ram Charan recently confirmed his participation in the upcoming movie. Given that casting is already underway, fans likely won’t have to wait long to find out if the reports about Suzy are true.
