Words of a true veteran.

On a recent episode of tvN‘s Sudden The Boss, Cha Tae Hyun opened up about the struggles of acting from his experience in the industry.

While discussing the importance of maintaining appearance as actors age, Cha Tae Hyun stressed that it’s all up to the audience.

According to Cha Tae Hyun, reporters always expressed their worry about how he always played the same type of characters.

Whenever reporters saw me, they worried about me. They always said, ‘It’s too bad that you’re always playing the same characters.’ And at the time, I wanted to do something different, too.

But Cha Tae Hyun had a change of heart.

And he explained that unless the audience wants it, a change might not always be a good thing for an actor.

If you change in a good way because you really wanted to achieve something, that’s fine. But if the audience doesn’t want to see it, it’s just your own greed.

Cha Tae Hyun, who turns 46 years old this year, debuted back in 1995, meaning he’s been working as an actor for 27 years.
