EXO completes EXOPLANET #2 – The EXO’luXion in North America
EXO turned up the heat ending their North America leg of the EXOPLANET #2 – The EXO’luXion tour in New York (New Jersey)!
Kicking off their tour in Dallas, Texas on February 10th, EXO has brought joy to EXO-Ls throughout North America, swinging up to Vancouver, Canada for a visit, and back to Los Angeles, California, and Chicago, Illinois. Rounding out their trip to North America, EXO could not leave without greeting their fans on the east coast of the US, making one last stop at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Sunday, February 21st.
Kai, Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O, Chen, Xiumen, and Sehun made their presence known as they took the stage to a packed arena, unfortunately without Lay who had scheduling conflicts in China. The concert kicked off with flame-blazing pyrotechnics and the hits “Overdose,” “History,” and “Mama,” igniting the passion of fans that have been waiting outside the venue for hours. After brief introductions, EXO’s love for their fans came shining through, asking EXO-Ls to be mindful and respectful of each other as they started their “One Step Back” chant and reminding fans that “if you’re hurt, our heart is hurt.”
With temperatures rising over the winter weekend, just in time for the arrival of EXO and EXO-Ls, the experience was made more pleasant for everyone who arrived early to tour New York. Their first visit to the Tri-State area, the members shared their memories from their trip to New York the day prior, exclaiming their excitement at seeing the bright lights and big screens in Times Square, eating hotdogs, viewing the Empire State Building, and their trip to Central Park.
Performing songs from their XOXO and EXODUS albums, fans were treated to other popular tracks, including “Don’t Go,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” “Exodus,” and “XOXO.” Despite already stirring hearts with a brief behind-curtains striptease, adorable playfulness as the members turned into elves, and treating attendees to a late Christmas gift with a medley of winter songs, EXO planned to bring the excitement up to a whole new level as they gently reminded fans again to be careful and taught the chants to the upcoming segment. The audience dancing and singing along with excitement, EXO powered through with songs like “Full Moon,” “Machine,” “Call Me Baby,” and “Growl,” and an explosion of confetti.
Turning into an emotional night as the end drew near, the members took to the stage for one final statement. Reflecting on the challenges from 2015, EXO acknowledged the pain that EXO-Ls must have felt as well, thanking them for their patience and support, and reminding everyone “we are one.”
EXO will be returning to Asia to continue the rest of their EXOPLANET #2 The EXO’luXion tour, with stops planned in Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and ending with a three-day concert series back in Seoul, Korea at the end of March. Following some well-deserved rest, they have promised to return soon with a new album.
