Hello Venus’s “Wiggle” dance cover breaks 1 million views
Just several days after its release, Hello Venus‘s dance cover of Jason Derulo’s “Wiggle” reached over 1 million views on YouTube!
The video, which was shared on both Hello Venus’ official YouTube and Facebook accounts on November 25th, featured the members in sexy, sporty outfits while dancing along to the upbeat track. After a year-long hiatus and a line-up change, the six-member group shifted from their cute and innocent image to a bolder, sexier one with their latest track “Sticky Sticky.”
Their dance cover is so popular in fact, that it has even surpassed the amount of views of their music video for “Sticky Sticky,” which recently reached 600,000 views. The popularity of their “Wiggle” cover, however, is not all positive. Despite over 3,400 “likes” and many positive comments complimenting their fit bodies and incredible coordination, the video has also been a source of controversy.
Negative responses to the video include critique regarding the over-sexualization of the girls and their bleak departure from the group’s original concept. Many netizens have left their opinions on the comment section of the video, which seems to have gone viral since it was released just a couple of days ago. The video is well on its way to 1.5 million views, with no signs of slowing down.
