A Male Idol Received The Creepiest Gift From A “Fan”

“…this is both malicious and dangerous…”

Many fans love to show their support by giving presents to their favorite celebrities. Unfortunately, after one alarming incident, a boy group is no longer accepting certain gifts from their supporters.

Anatashia is an idol dance group from Japan that debuted in 2015. It currently has seven members: Shibaken, Marin, Haneru, Masato, Kanata, Rion, and Naoya. Unlike many traditional idol groups in Japan and Korea, Anatashia is a group of odorites, dancers who upload performance videos to Nico Nico Douga (a Japanese video streaming service) among other platforms. Although they have idol visuals and charms, Anatashia is not a vocal group; they focus purely on dance.

Back in 2018, when Anatashia was a six-member group, they received many gifts from their fans, including plushies and stuffed animals. At this time, one of the members received a plushie that contained a hidden GPS tracker. It is unclear if this “gift” was intended for a particular member or the group as a whole.

What is known is that this tracker would have allowed the gift-giver to track Anatashia’s every move, had it not been discovered. Unfortunately, this is far from the first (or last) time an idol has received a creepy present from their so-called admirers.

Thank you all for the gifts you send us.

However, we’re sad to inform you that inside a stuffed animal we received the other day, there was what we believe to be a GPS signal-emitting device.

As this is both malicious and dangerous, from now on we will be prohibiting fans from giving us stuffed animals. Thank you for your understanding.
