BINI is a beloved P-Pop group composed of eight members: AiahColetMaloiGwenStacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. Since their debut in 2019, BINI has risen to fame, topped charts, and graced the covers of popular magazines. Unfortunately, the group’s skyrocketing popularity has also led to an increase in hate comments from netizens.

Maloi recently came under fire for promoting an item of official BINI merch: a shopping tote bag that she described as functional, sturdy, and a “perfect” accessory for her matching outfit. “If you get this, you’ll be BINIfied,” Maloi said. “So what are you waiting for? Get yours now. Buy now!”

In the comment section of Maloi’s TikTok, which has since been closed, some netizens criticized the tote bag but also the idol for promoting it.

Since then, fans have defended Maloi on various social media platforms and shared their opinions about both the situation and the bag.

One TikTok user, @gelo.lasin, likened the tote bag to a litmus test for “how much management can milk their fandoms.” He went on to describe it as a “trash bag” with BINI’s logo slapped on it and expressed sympathy for Maloi. He said, “She looks like she was being held at gunpoint trying to endorse this thing.” Like other fans, @gelo.lasin also argued that BINI’s management or whoever designed the tote bag should be the ones receiving heat for it, not Maloi.

Despite the criticism, Maloi has continued to proudly carry her trust tote and recently included it in BINI’s livestream.
