One viewer felt that some plotlines inadvertently normalized sexual relationships between students and teachers rather than condemning them.

Problematic idea 1: the normalization of high school students with teachers. Ayami and Yuto seemed to represent that this kind of relationship is wrong. (TW: rape) Ayami seemed visibly uncomfortable after acting inappropriately with Yuto (the teacher); I believe this was supposed to show how the normalization of student-teacher relationships is wrong.

HOWEVER, they completely counter this idea when they show the relationship between Yuki (school therapist) and Asuka (student). Asuka was persistent, visiting the therapist and saying he would “grow up faster” to be with her. Yuki did not reject him and seemed to be interested in him herself (she watched his basketball practices). I have an issue with this because one, it’s gross, and two, why is this even a thing?
