A Chinese Influencer Finds Surprising Support After Punching And Kicking A Man During A Festival
Every year, the summer seems hotter and hotter, and people devise creative ways to stay cool while having fun. WATERBOMB Festival is one of those creative ways, gathering popular entertainers to perform while shooting water in every direction, and PSY‘s Summer Swag concerts function similarly.
Communities sometimes hold events to beat the heat; these festivals are common in many places across China. Recently, one such event took a turn when an influencer seemingly attacked a man, but there is more to the story.
On July 22, in the Bailucan tourist resort in the Shaanxi province of China, a “water-splashing” festival was held. Now viral videos show an influencer known as Zheng Kuaile punching and kicking a man while arguing with him.
The stranger reportedly threw water at her, which caused the outburst she later apologized for in a video.
While some criticized her actions, many supported her standing up for herself.
According to a commenter, men attending these festivals will often splash women because they are good-looking as a form of harassment. Zheng Kuaile was not participating in the event nor carrying a water gun to show she was.
“I support the woman. Some men splash women on purpose just because they were good-looking, even if they were only passing by and not taking part in the game.”

Earlier this year, male tourists targeted a woman at another event where they surrounded her, tearing off her clothes and shooting water at her genitals. Locals claim these sorts of attacks go against the original intention of the festival, which is meant to spread goodwill.
What do you think of the influencer’s actions?
