Fan Lurches Himself At Iconic Actress, Frightens Her With Sudden Outburst
An iconic actress just had a frightening interaction with a fan.
Cecilia Yip is a 61-year old actress based in Hong Kong. She made a name for herself through the fantasy drama New Legend of Madame White Snake (1992) and its remake The Legend of the White Snake (2019).
She is still going strong until today, both with her energy and fanbase. In terms of the latter, a crowd of supporters recently gathered at the airport to send her off.
One particular fan, however, turned the trip sour for the senior artist.
Cecilia Yap was seen handing out autographs to several people gathered around her. While this was happening, a man in a floral shirt suddenly lurched toward her, attempting to take a selfie without her permission. Cecilia’s assistant protected her and pushed him aside.
The fan yelled obscenities at the actress, making a fuss about being unable to take a picture with her. She stood frozen in place, shocked.

Cecilia eventually turned away from the scene. Despite the uncomfortable atmosphere, she still managed to wave goodbye to the other fans in the airport.
The video soon went viral on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The actress posted a reply assuring netizens that she was not disheartened by the incident.
Each person has their own way of expressing their affections, and I felt everyone’s passion. It’s just that the airport isn’t the ideal place for me to interact with others. Please don’t worry, this incident will not affect my mood, because I’m still happy to meet the fans of White Snake. I would advise everybody to remain calm and logical while expressing your sentiments. What you see online is just a short clip, and I hope all of you can be kinder and more understanding of others.

The fan in question later apologized to the actress for “scaring [her] at the airport” since his “emotions were running high.”
