Former Girl Group Member’s Alleged Stalker Attack Caught On Camera
Footage of a man who allegedly ambushed and assaulted a former idol has been released to the public. The man, a suspected stalker, has reportedly been causing problems since August.
Kojima Haruna is one of the inaugural members of the Japanese idol group AKB48. Since leaving the group in 2017, Haruna went on to found her own brand Her lip to in 2018, and has continued to work as an entrepreneur, actress, and model.
In the video, featured in a report by the Japanese TV program Mezamashi 8, a man can be seen hugging and pushing Haruna to the ground while she was at an event in Shibuya on October 31. At the time, she was promoting her latest photobook, Maybe.
At around 9:00 PM that night, a 42-year-old man who is from Taiwan, ambushed Haruna outside the venue. Security guards and passersby apprehended the suspect, and police have stated that Haruna was unharmed.
This is not, however, the first time the man has allegedly caused trouble for Haruna. Haruna’s staff reportedly contacted the police after the same man allegedly behaved aggressively toward Haruna in August. During questioning, the Taiwanese man admitted to hugging Haruna but stated that he did not approach her with the intention of harming her. He claimed that the people around Haruna had been preventing him from meeting her.
According to new reports, Tokyo police served a fresh arrest warrant for the man in November. He is suspected of violating Japan’s antistalking law. Watch the video here:
