Hong Kong Top Group MIRROR’s Anson Lo Wows The Audience At First Solo Concert “THE STAGE”
Hong Kong top boy group MIRROR‘s Anson Lo completed his first-ever solo concert, THE STAGE, held from July 23 – 26.
Although the concert was mainly held on weekdays, Anson Lo’s fans, Sontos, filled up the 10,000-seat venue on all four days, proving the singer’s explosive popularity.
As one of the main dancers in MIRROR, Anson Lo got the crowd moving right from the start of the show with two of his dance hits, “A Lifelong Mission” and “Mr. Stranger.”
Besides his own songs, Anson Lo also covered some popular hits by other artists. One of these songs is Alfred Hui‘s “Grow Up Again,” which helped Anson Lo through some difficult times.
He also performed a few English songs, including Linkin Park‘s “Numb,” Usher‘s “Nice & Slow,” and Asher Book’s “Try.”
As guests of the concert, Dear Jane, Twins‘ Charlene Choi, and Kelly Chen performed with Anson Lo. In particular, Anson Lo is known to have idolized Twins when he was young, making his collaboration with Charlene Choi extra special.
I always went to the shopping malls with my mom and dad to get photocards. If my sister and I couldn’t get Twins’ photocards through the random draw, we would be really sad and throw tantrums. We didn’t want to leave before getting at least 10 of Twins’ photocards.

During the concert, Anson Lo candidly revealed that he was on the edge of breaking down due to immense pressure earlier this year and earnestly thanked his fans for standing by him throughout his five-year career so far.
Fans didn’t want to leave after the show officially ended on the last day, and so, to repay his fans’ love and support, Anson Lo went back on stage for another encore, exclusive to the final show! He performed three of his songs again, and his fans were touched by his sincere efforts to be with them for a little longer.
After the show, Anson Lo expressed his feelings about his four-day concert.
I’m touched. During the four shows, I felt the love for me from Sontos and the audience. They screamed very loudly during every part of the performance. There was an extended stage, so I could get close to everyone. When I made eye contact and saw their smiles, it was as if they were telling me they were happy to see me. I feel touched that I’m able to make everyone happy.

Anson Lo’s The Stage concert is the second in a series of six solo concerts featuring members of MIRROR. Jer Lau finished his shows in early July, and Keung To is the next in line with his shows scheduled for August 2 – 5.
