Husband Discovers Wife’s Year-Long Secret Just 12 Days After Marrying Her
One man’s fairytale became a nightmare just 12 days after he said “I do” to the woman he hoped to spend his life with.
After dating for more than a year, a 26-year-old Indonesian man wed a woman named Kanza in April of this year. The man, who goes by the alias AK, met Kanza through social media, but the two got to know each other well in person before they married.
AK believed his new wife was an orphan, but after twelve days of suspicious behavior, he found out that this was just one of her lies. Kanza’s parents are still alive, and they were entirely unaware of their child’s relationship with AK. Like the rest of Kanza’s family, Kanza’s parents had not attended the couple’s at-home wedding ceremony.
Then came the bigger bombshell. Kanza is actually a man, ESH, who had been planning to scam AK out of money. How did AK not realize the truth soon?
For one thing, while dating, Kanza/ESH wore traditional Muslim clothing–a niqab–that covered all but her eyes. For another, even without the niqab, ESH’s feminine disguise was convincing. Police, who arrested ESH for fraud, described ESH’s high-pitched voice as “like a woman’s” and said he truly played the part well.

ESH, if convicted of fraud, could be sentenced to up to four years in prison for his scheme. As for AK, chances are he will be much more cautious about who he dates in the future!
