Last year, a celebrity couple went public with their age gap relationship. Since then, they have received a mix of support from fans and criticism from skeptics.

43-year-old singer Jin Sha (also known as Kym) and 24-year old-actor Sun Cheng Xiao announced their relationship on November 3, 2023. At the time, they also announced that they would be appearing on the reality show Viva La Romance, a show that followed five couples as they embarked on a romantic trip.

The couple has a significant age difference of 19 years, meaning that while Jin Sha was making a name for herself in the entertainment industry, Cheng Xiao was a toddler. Because of their age gap, Jin Sha said that some of her friends were “envious” of her having a younger boyfriend, while others expressed their doubts, wondering if Jin Sha “should be more level-headed.” Cheng Xiao has also been accused of trying to use Jin Sha to advance his career.
