Man Discovers His Massive Age Gap With His Wife The Day Before Their Wedding
For seven years, a man in Japan was totally unaware of his true love’s age. It wasn’t until they were about to say, “I do” that he found out how old she actually is.

The 40-year-old man, Yoshitaka, met his wife-to-be Aki at the Japanese-style bar she ran at the time. Both of them were divorcees, and they had plenty in common — except their age.
After talking with her, I found that we both had experienced failed marriages, were raising children alone, and we also shared many common interests.

At the time, Aki told Yoshitaka that she was 15 years older than him. She continued to let him believe this for the entirety of their courtship because she worried that he might fall out of love with her after discovering her true age. Even so, Aki did try to drop some hints to let Yoshitaka find out the truth on his own.

I left my passport and insurance card on the table, hoping he would notice.

Since Yoshitaka didn’t pick up on any of the hints Aki dropped, she eventually told him her true age on the eve of their wedding. She isn’t 15 years older than him; she’s actually 25 years his senior! That makes Aki 65 years old today.

Thankfully, Yoshitaka took the news very well. In fact, he was more concerned about Aki’s well-being than the secrecy. The two tied the knot, and they have been living a blissful life together ever since.
I don’t mind your real age at all, it doesn’t matter. What matters is why you didn’t tell me earlier, so you wouldn’t have to worry for so long.
