“Muscle Grandma” Bodybuilder Wins Over Young Competitors 

She’s an icon!

Wang Jianrong, a Chinese bodybuilder, is receiving love on social media for breaking stereotypes. Going by the name “Muscle Grandma” online, she’s 55 years old but has the body composition and fitness of a 30 year old.

She recently won a bodybuilding contest where she beat out the younger contestants and shares her victory online to inspire middle-aged women to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

She spends 1.5 hours working out for at least six days a week and maintains a body fat percentage between 12% and 15%. She can deadlift 127 kg (279 lbs), squat 95 kg (209 lbs), and bench press 72 kg (158 lbs).

Some of the tips she shares to maintain a healthy lifestyle include sleeping for at least 8 hours every night, eating a bland diet with protein like meat and eggs, drinking enough water, and staying active.
