A feud between actresses is playing out online.
On Instagram, Hong Kong actress Anita Chui publicly demanded that Malaysian actress Tong Bing Yu pay back the money she allegedly owes her. The two co-starred in the 2016 film Special Female Force.
In her Instagram stories, Anita Chui wrote, “Pay back the money you owe @tongbingyu,” tagging her former co-star. She also shared a screenshot of an alleged conversation between her and Tong Bing Yu. In it, Anita Chui called Tong Bing Yu “a big liar” and threatened to “expose” her. Anita Chui stated that she will sue Tong Bing Yu if Tong Bing Yu does not pay her.
Tong Bing Yu’s lawyer is now reportedly looking into the situation. In a statement, the star addressed Anit Chui’s Instagram stories, calling them “misleading” and “defamatory.”

Anita Chui is not, however, the only person who has accused Tong Bing Yu of withholding money. A week after Anita Chui voiced her claims, another individual reportedly used a fake account on the Malaysia Film & TV Industry Workers Facebook group to demand Tong Bing Yu “pay back the money” she allegedly owes them.
Tong Bing Yu, pay back the money! How long are you going to drag this out? So despicable. How dare you make others work without paying them, and then delay their salaries? Do you have any conscience? Have you thought about the fact that these people have families to support? You are utterly inhumane.

According to Malaysian media reports, the anonymous accuser has been leaving malicious comments on Tong Bing Yu’s social media accounts, but also those belonging to her friends. In response, the actress stated, “Not only did this person affect my reputation but also seriously impacted the people around me, and I don’t even know who this person is. To me, this is very serious slander.”
Tong Bing Yu urged her accuser to bring evidence of the owed wages to her company, stating she will “take responsibility” if the claims are proven true.
